Telephone Art

I like to fill time taking photographs and creating interesting and unique images within my mobile phone, or cellphone. Often I'll start with a basic image taken on a cycle ride or similar and gradually change it into something a little different using a variety of free applications stored in my cellphone. The starting image is usually a photograph, but I often draw pencil sketches and use those as the base image as well.
I rarely have any idea how it will turn out when I start, it just evolves stage by stage which is what makes it interesting.
I use a simple HTC desire s phone loaded with two free photo apps available on google play. I also use a pencil and paper! I started using some images as screensavers and wallpapers on my phone and my laptop, they work really well for those.
I don't claim to be a professional photographer, just a guy with a cellphone making pictures and enjoying it! The main reason I do this is to distract my mind from painful and damaging thoughts, dominated by events in my recent past. Distraction helps. I guess it's some kind of therapy, anyway, it is what it is!

Basque

This beauty in her underwear may have been best left alone, but I gave her the cellphone treatment and the end result was interesting I thought. It's actually just a photo I took of a shot in a junk mail leaflet shoved through my door one day.

Jack wolfskin

This is a character I drew for a book.my then young son wrote. He had described how he wanted the character to look, I drew it in pencil and created this chap for him to use in his story. I hope he liked it.

House plant

Here is a simple house plant...made not so simple!

Angel

This is a simple pencil sketch of mine from my imagination. The luminescence was added in the cellphone. Angels are everywhere but this one was special.

Fender guitar

I love to play electric guitar at lightening speed, sometimes my.fingers burn! This is one of my fender Stratocaster guitars getting torched!

Pirate

Ha ha...here is a self portrait I drew in pencil in one of my more piratey moods!

Game over

I took this shot of a garden pot in a curiosity shop locally. Then I messed around with it in the phone and aliens started happening, so I thought...right...Space invaders!

Worthing beach

I this one. It isn't manipulated as the light just fell right and made the shot take on a darker hue. I often sit out there on the groin and watch the waves come in.

Storm

Sitting on the beach here it all went a bit quiet, you know that before the storm silence? Well I grabbed my phone , took a shot of the clouds gathering on the horizon and sat there editing the picture as the warm heavy summer raindrops started to fall. This is the result.

Alien

This is actually a pencil drawing I did some years ago in a place I don't ever wish to return to. It symbolizes how I felt inside at that time, a kind of internal self portrait I guess.
